PINTEREST SUCCESS - 9/19/12

More pinterest success and HAPPY BOYS!
3 new recipes tried and I can declare
First, Chocolate Milk Mix - think Nesquik.
Homemade Nesquik - really yummy! TIP: make sure you use a tiny bit of warm/hot warm from the tap to mix with 2 T. of mix, then add 12-16 oz. milk, stir and FALL IN LOVE!
NOTES:  First, it tastes really yummy!!!  It doesn't mix smoothly into the cold milk (even with little bits not dissolved, it was delish).  To deal with this, add your mix to the glass, then add a tiny bit of warm/hot water from the tap.  Swirl or stir until combined and then fill with cold milk.  This mix will have a decent shelf life in your pantry and is easy to take on the go.
Second, Chocolate Syrup - think Hershey's Chocolate Syrup.
NOTES:  Oh my, DELICIOUSNESS!  It's the same ratio of sugar and cocoa powder as the mix, but you add water and vanilla to the syrup.  It mixes very easily in your milk and everyone in my family is loving it!  We can't wait to try it on ice cream.
Third, Creamy Lemon Chicken Pasta.

PINTEREST SUCCESS

That's the name of my latest board on pinterest.  I decided I needed to keep track of the recipes I tried out from here. If a recipe is a fail, I delete it.  If it's a success, I'll pin it under the new board (PINTEREST SUCCESS) then I remove it from the Food to Make board.  This makes it easier for my mind to deal with all the recipes I'm gathering!  Seeing as I only started this new board today, there are only 2 pins in total.  I've made both of the recipes this week and I can't wait to make them again!  (in fact, I think I'll make the pumpkin poppers after I finish this post!)
Pumpkin Poppers - Made these first on 8/26/12. Instead of rolling in the butter, I just melted 2 Tbsp. of butter and brushed the tops, then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. YUM!!!! The recipe says it makes 2 doz. mini muffins, but I had more than 3 doz.

 Pumpkin Poppers
Photo and recipe are found here.
Thank you, Haley at JUST THE LITTLE THINGS.
As they were baking Sunday morning, I had hope that fall would come.
(even if it's in my own mind!)
Next, was last night's dinner - Pretzel Dogs!!!!
(photo from Joy the Baker)
The first teeny little taste of this made me happy!  My whole family loved this recipe, and now I'm so excited to make huge soft pretzels with cheese sauce.  YUM!!!
Thank you JOY THE BAKER

2011 ZIPPERED ALBUM

I purchased these little zippered albums a few years back from the Bazzill Warehouse Sale. (already getting excited for it this fall!)  I thought it would make a nice little album for my father-in-law.  Again, this was supposed to be a Christmas present.  It was finished during my Christmas in July, but still needs to be sent to Michigan!
 The Stock Boys
The next few pages have a photo of each boy and a note they wrote to their Pa.
 Some accomplishments in 2011
Braces off - Colton
Riding a Bike - Kyler
Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do - Asher
I also included an older family photo....
Why does time go by so fast?
The second section in the album was dedicated to holidays.  Easter:  I love their matching ties...even Roscoe is wearing one!
 Thanksgiving
 Christmas
And again, an older photo.  This one from 2005.
I love my boys!!!!!

2011 ALBUM FOR MY MOM

I've never been great at sending photos to grandparents regularly.  Years ago I decided to make a year in review scrapbook and send it to the grandparents for Christmas.  It worked well for a few years and after a little break I decided to start doing these yearly albums again.  Problem:  I didn't get them done for Christmas....but I did finish them for Christmas in July! (now I just need to send one to MN & one to MI)  Today I'm sharing some pages out of my mom's scrapbook.

BACK TO SCHOOL & A BAZZILL SWAP

I have a "use it or lose it" mentality with my craft room right now.  If I don't create, then I won't keep the room....it's as simple as that!  (if this doesn't get me going, then I don't deserve a craft room at all)  Thankfully, my three monkeys started school last week and I wanted find my crafting mojo.  Then strep throat reared it's ugly head and I've been in bed all last week.
To add to the excitement - Friday, our new little dog Coco arrived.  (Thanks to my brother for driving her here from UT!  THANKS, JEAN-JACQUES!!!!!)  She needed/wanted lots of love and attention, so did Roscoe.  They have both been by my side all weekend!  This morning I was bound and determined to create my cards for the Bazzill Swap.
It's very simple, but I was just happy to have finished them.  I used their Wayfarer paper.
I used these two background papers (since I didn't want to go to the store for cardstock).
I'm so happy to have accomplished something today!
Now, I'm off to take my meds and hopefully wake to a better tomorrow!

$1 BIRTHDAY GIFT

$1 frame from IKEA is basically all I needed to buy.  I asked Tony to design this for me (although it's not hard to find something similar on the internet)  He put it together and printed it out to fit the frame.
Next, I cut a piece of cardstock 4x6 for the other side.  Super easy and I love it!  I hope the birthday boy loved it too!
